Get ready for a magical day of imagination, creativity, and family fun! Saturday, May 2, 2026. 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM @ Milton Public Library, 121 Union Street, Milton, Delaware. Step into a world where stories come alive! From exciting books to interactive fun, this high-energy festival is designed to spark young imaginations and inspire a lifelong love of reading. It is an event perfect for families and packed with literary fun & discovery- a vibrant, can’t-miss community event. Bring your curiosity. Bring your love of stories. Join us on Thursdays @ 10am in May with Lisa from Courageous Hearts, LLC for "Walk a Mile in Your Shoes". You will be taking a gentle, mindfulness walk with a therapy canine and Lisa from Courageous Hearts. It's good for the mind and soul to reflect and enjoy the outdoors...the dog will just be an added bonus! Meet in the library parking lot @ 600 S. Cannon St., Bridgeville, DE.

Children's Programs

Join Ms. Hilary on Tuesdays in April @ 10am for stories, songs, and rhymes for all ages about Spring. The first Tuesday of each month it is held at the Seaford Chick-Fil-A @ 10am and is for all ages. She would love to have you! There will not be a session on April 21st. "Little Acorns" Music & Movement will be held on Wednesdays @ 9am in the library with Ms. Hilary. Enjoy dancing, swaying, or just observing at this time of movement, rhythm, and fun. Ms. Hilary will model some songs, rhymes, finger plays, and bounces to use at home. This will encourage early learning to foster early literacy skills and develop a lifelong love of books. Reading to your baby can support their social and emotional development. No session on April 22nd. Bring your child to the library on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month @11am to read to the L.E.A.P. dogs, Oliver and Penny. Join us with Georgie Cartanza, a UD Cooperative Extension Poultry agent, on Friday, May 15th @ 12:30pm to learn about the difference between chickens that provide food through their eggs and chickens that feed families with their meat. Participants will learn about the process of incubating and hatching chicks, and hopefully get to hold a cute, downy, spotted and speckled fluff ball. Registration is required.

Adult Programs

In April, Mahjong will be held on the 2nd and 4th Friday from 3-5pm. We are looking for beginners to experienced players to learn or play the game of Mahjong! We will have 2 boards available or you may bring your own board/racks and cards/tiles to play, if you wish. Registration is preferred. For adults and open to teens 14+. *Disclaimer-We will be playing the American version of Mahjong with cards, using the 2024 card. Join us on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 3-4pm at the library for BINGO! It's FREE to attend with FREE prizes. We will play at least six games of regular bingo for $5 Walmart Gift Cards. Up to two cards per person. Repeat winners will receive alternate prize. Refreshments will be provided by the Bridgeville Library. Join us on Saturday, April 25th from 11am-1pm as we discuss the book selection "The Discreet Hero" by Mario Vargas Llosa and enjoy a variety of Peruvian inspired cuisine. The book is available in regular print, and as an eBook on HOOPLA. Registration is required. Gentle Yoga with Bonnie (Ananda Yoga) will be held on Wednesdays @ 6pm on the following dates: March 25th, April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th at the library. These classes are open to all ages and levels, and are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring your own mat. A virtual format is pending. Join us on Monday, May 4th AND Monday, May 11th @ 2pm for a fun cardio drumming class. PACE Your Life will be hosting "Drums Alive", suitable for all abilities and free to attend at the Bridgeville Library. It will be held on a first come-first served basis for up to 32 people. All equipment needed will be provided and you have an option to stand or sit.

Tween/Teen Programs

Join Ms. Miranda for a fun interactive Book Club for ages 8-14 on Thursday, April 30th at 3:30pm. This month’s book is from The Ranger's Apprentice series (#2) "The Burning Bridge" by John Flanagan. Several copies will be available in the library and it is also on the LIBBY App. Registration is preferred.  Do you love discussing your favorite Anime and Manga series, and discovering new ones? Then our Anime & Manga Club is the place for you! Join Ms. Hilary at the library on Thursday, April 30th from 4pm-5pm. This club is for teens and tweens (ages 10-17). You will watch anime together, vote on what to watch next, dive into the stories, discuss characters, plot twists, and everything in between. All Anime will be rated for ages 14 and under. Hope you can join us! Festival of Words will be held on Saturday, May 9th from 9am- 3pm @ Woodbridge High School. FREE annual event for secondary students, teachers, and librarians. The event was developed to encourage a love of reading and writing by introducing young adults to diverse authors and ideas. There will be many local authors, workshop activities for all ages, giveaways, gift baskets for raffles, freebies, food trucks and concessions. Please register: https://bit.ly/4bywYCG.

CPR Certification Classes

The Bridgeville Library is offering a CPR Certification Class on Saturday, April 11th from 4-7pm or Saturday, May 16th from 10am-1pm. A certified CPR American Heart Association Instructor will be teaching this class. The cost is $65 per participant to receive certification. Registration is required and class is limited to 10 participants. To register: call the library at 302-337-7401 ext. 101. Payment must be received by April 8th (for April 11th class); May 13th (for May 16th class) and will be accepted by (in this order): cash, check or credit card.

Yard Sale

We will be having a yard sale in our parking lot during the Town of Bridgeville's Yard Sale on Saturday, May 2nd. If you are interested in renting a yard sale or a vendor spot in the library parking lot, please email: [email protected] or stop in the library. Cost: $20 for 3 parking spaces for a yard sale spot or $25 for 2 parking spaces for a vendor spot.

"3D Printing and the Future with AI"

Join us for a presentation on how 3D printing and AI are increasingly interconnected, and how their combination is shaping how products are designed, manufactured, and optimized. The presenter is Jack Heslin, who has been in the 3D Printing industry since 2013. He's worked on the hardware side of the industry selling printers as well as the service bureau side selling parts. His experience includes industrial applications, such as aerospace, as well as consumer product companies developing prototypes. Jack has been an industry trade show speaker and panel moderator as well as the founder of The 3D Future Edge, a newsletter devoted to the impact AI is having on Additive Manufacturing. We are offering 2 seperate sessions, and would prefer if you call the library (302-337-7401 ext. 101) to reserve your spot: Thursday, May 14th @ 6pm and Thursday, May 28th @ 2pm. This is free and open to all ages and interests.
